Christmas Year 'Round

Christmas is in my heart twelve months a year and thanks to credit cards, it's on my Visa card statement twelve months a year also.

Deck Us All With Boston Charlie

Deck us all with Boston Charlie,
Walla walla, Wash., an' Kalamazoo!
Nora's freezin' on the trolley,
Swaller dollar cauliflower alley'garoo!
Don't we know archaic barrel,
Lullaby lilla boy, Louisville Lou?
Trolley Molly don't love Harold,
Boola boola Pensacoola hullabaloo!

Bark us all bow-wows of folly,
Polly welly cracker n' too-da-loo!
Donkey Bonny brays a carol,
Antelope Cantaloup, 'lope with you!

Hunky Dory's pop is lolly gaggin' on the wagon,
Willy, folly go through!
Chollie's collie barks at Barrow,
Harum scarum five alarum bung-a-loo!

Duck us all in bowls of barley,
Ninky dinky dink an' polly voo!
Chilly Filly's name is Chollie,
Chollie Filly's jolly chilly view halloo!

Bark us all bow-wows of folly,
Double-bubble, toyland trouble! Woof, Woof, Woof!
Tizzy seas on melon collie!
Dibble-dabble, scribble-scrabble! Goof, Goof, Goof!

- Lyrics by Walt Kelly

Wound Up

Some of these new toys are so creative and inventive. This year they have a Neurotic Doll. It's wound up already.

A Christmas Poem For Mom

For all the nights you stayed up late
to trim the Christmas tree,
For all the costly presents
That you purchased just for me...

For all the times you tucked me in
And read me stories too,
For all the ways you cheered me up
When I was feeling blue...

For all the cookies that you baked
And stockings that you stuffed,
For all the messes you cleaned up
And pillows that you fluffed...

For all the days you loved me,
Even when I made it hard,
For all these things, and much, much more...
Here's a Christmas card!

(Kinda makes it all seem worth it, doesn't it ,Mom?)

Merry Christmas!

Zapped

Do you know what it is like to put up fifteen hundred Christmas lights on the roof of a house?

The kids are giving two to one I'm gonna come down the chimney before Santa Claus does.

Apple Gains Notebook Notoriety - Apple is expected to sweep the marketiBook on notebooks in the year 2006. The company is projected to ship twice as many notebooks in 2006 as it did in 2005, making a significant gain in the market. The reason for the increase is the new line of slim and sleek notebooks due out in the coming year. They are expected to be quite successful in the shadow of the iPod. - from TaiPeiTimes

Think Different Is Different - Apple's theme may have been Think Different, but the company takes it one step further and actually is different. This is what makes Apple superior to every other computer company. While PC'rs are out there trying to make the cheapest performing product they can possibly conjure up, Apple stands above the competition. It competes with no one, and that is why Apple stands alone at the top. - from The Inquirer

Cyber Time Capsules - A number of websites are sporting a service in Time Flieswhich one can set themselves up to receive e-mails in the future. A person can record a memorable event or just keep a diary of what's going on in a particular day and have the e-mail sent to themselves anywhere from three to thirty years down the road. Thanks to the internet, the trip down memory lane can now be taken without the actual trip. - from Wired

Will Apple Stop Intel Sticker? - As the reality of Apple computers withIntel Inside? Intel chips nears, the question of the infamous Intel Inside sticker inevitably needs to be raised. It has been seen on numerous PCs, but if Apple allows the sticker it seems that would compromise the perfect look that makes Apple, well, Apple. Since people are more loyal to Apple than Intel, it is expected that Intel will automatically gain repoire through Apple and will not need to apply its sticker. - from Businessweek

Back To The Apple Future - With products Apple has put out over the last few years such as iPod nano, iPod video and iPod shuffle, the company has become the talk of every town. What enquiring minds want to know is, what will Apple come up with next? Some speculate a wireless iPod, iPhone and more TV deals to bring more videos to the iPod. Whatever the future brings, all eyes are on Apple. - from TimesLeader

Kibosh On Christmas Kissing - British Christmasers may be in for quite a kissing dilemma this season. It is being reported that much mistletoe is being picked from the plant and taken without permission in a mad rush to sell the symbolic kissing plant at the market. Odds and Ends

Being Sting - Gordon Sumner, the rock star and actor known as Sting, got his nickname from the yellow-and-black jerseys he used to wear, which fellow musicians thought made him look like a bumble bee.

Christmas - When Christmas was first established, it was to be a prayerful observance. Old English; Cristes maesse or Mass of Christ. A fourth century theologian wrote: "We hold this day holy, not like the pagans because of the birth of the sun, but because of him who made it." In Spanish it's La Natividad, in French it’s Noel.

Beached - Miami Beach, Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Palm Beach, Pacific Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach — there are scores of U.S. coastal cities and towns with "beach" in their names. Surprisingly, there's only one city in the United States named merely "Beach." It is found in North Dakota, which is a land-locked state.

Christmas Sprinkler - A device invented as a primitive steam engine by the Greek engineer Hero, about the time of the birth of Christ, is used today as a rotating lawn sprinkler.

The Wall Of Christmas - In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it 'Christmas' and went to church; the Jews called it 'Hanukkah' and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say 'Merry Christmas!' or 'Happy Hanukkah!' or (to the atheists) 'Look out for the wall!'

- Dave Barry

The Gift That Keeps On Wishing - I once bought my kids a set of batteries for Christmas with a note on it saying, toys not included.

- Bernard Manning

Parting Shot - The one thing women don't want to find in their stockings on Christmas morning is their husband.

- Joan Rivers

Big Presence

Who delivers elephants' Christmas presents?

Elephanta Claus!

Know The Code!

A descendant of Eric The Red, named Rudolf the Red, was arguing with his wife about the weather. His wife thought it was going to be a nice day, and he thought it was going to rain. Finally she asked him, how he was so sure. He smiled at her, and calmly said, "Because Rudolf the Red knows rain, dear."

With Good Claus

Why does Santa Claus go down the chimney on Christmas Eve? Because it soots him.

Look Again

A Texas rancher was driving through Mexico and stopped at the edge of the road to admire the scenery and a white beautiful horse caught his eye. The horse looked healthy well kept and was in a separate corral. Just for tries the Texan asked one of the workers if the horse was for sale. The worker trying to communicate said, "No, no, he no look to good."

The Texan was not satisfied with the answered because he saw that the animal looked great and insisted on buying it. After a few arguments the worker arranged for the sale and the Texan took the horse back to his ranch.

He rode the horse through his ranch and galloped to the barn when suddenly the horse ran right into the barn wall. Frustrated the Texan takes the horse back to Mexico and talks to the worker that sold him the horse and explains what happened. The worker said, "I told you he no look to good."
