At
The Top -
Phew! We made it through Monday and hopped up on hump day.
So now it's down hill from here...Right? We certainly
hope so! But to remove the uncertainty and give the middle
of the week Wednesday blues a nudge on the down slide, we
open the doors of our mid-week Wednesday Desktop
Edition! There's some great new eye candy ready
for consumption as well as some good reading in the area
of News and Humor too. Let's get to it!
New
GOO!
New
Desktops - Wholey Toledo Cows! This week's Wednesday
Desktop Edition promises to be a fine time for all as we
have 5 New Desktops for your eye candy
taste buds! So without further ado, let's DO!
3-D Rendered - We're quite
pleased to pull out a great new pixel place mat by
our newest artist to the Gallery, Dave
Hornsby. Sporting some outstanding 3-D craftsmanship,
Dave gives your desktop a real pixel party with Pipes.
This fine dining in digital design is sure to make all
your fellow GUI friends green with envy!
Certainly the finest shifters of reality
is Juergen Eilts of none
other than
ShiftedReality!
This week we get the privilege of traveling to a land
long forgotten with Juergen's creative imagination and
the 3-D depths of Forgotten
3. This amazing work will take you to a world
that your desktop will not soon forget!
Everybody say AHHHHHH for the jaw-droppin',
awe inspiring, Aqua arousing
Aqualien
by the GUI maestro himself: Mr. "Pixel Till Ya Pop"
Scott Chitwood! This cool creature from the collections
of Rampant
Mac is sure to add a refreshing new view to your group
of GOOP! How he does it? Nobody knows. But he sure adds
tons of fun for your eyes to behold!
Desktops - Adding a meaningful
message to this week's Desktop Edition is a
powerful piece from Jameson
Sasser titled War
Cry. Though blood and war are always found
on the same "playing" field, it's hard to preserve
life when innocent blood is spilled in the peace process.
It's a fine line that is difficult to draw.
Everybody knows that you gotta hold the
Keys
to your desktop's heart!
And this is exactly what you will find with this fine
desktop design from EMKdesign's
Evan Kaufman. The cool blue keyboard is certainly that
of the Apple persuasion and the view that Evan provides
will keep your monitor all but feeling blue. Note
2 Evan: Hey Evan! Where'd ya go?!
Enjoy!
Thanks

New Desktops
and Stuff - Tomorrow would be the day that
we provide another installment of our mid-week madness!
This week's Wednesday Desktop Edition will
feature some cool new desktop works including a selection
from a brand new artist to the Gallery.
On
a different side of the Monkie coin, things on the Monkie
Network seem to be getting back to normal. Over the weekend,
our host server was moved to a new data center, thus causing
some major downtime. Though things appear to be back to
normal, there are still a few bugs to work out which should
be within a couple of days. We did receive a new IP Address,
so for those of you who surf by numbers, you may want to
update your records. The new address is: 64.124.166.146.

iTunes - Apple has
announced a special event to take place Thursday, October
16th. It has been revealed that music is the main material
sparking the special event, and some suggest that the time
has come for iTunes
for Windows. When Apple announced the iTunes Music store
for Mac they did so with a special event also. Perhaps Thursday's
main stage will mimic the Mac announcement by presenting
iTunes for Windows to PC users and multiplying music downloads
by the millions. - from MacCentral

In The Major League - Major Motion Picture makers
Joel and Ethan Coen have made Mac their tool of choice.
The latest independent film for them is "Intolerable

Clooney. The film was edited
using Mac machines and Final Cut Pro. Zeta-Jones and Clooney
may look good to begin with, but Macs make them look even
better on the big screen. The cat and mouse chase comedy
came to theaters last week. - from Apple

installment in text -- ASCII text that is! This clip is
entirely rendered in ASCII text. Not quite sure how they
done it, but it sure does look cool.
Keep in mind that it doesn't render
well with all browsers. For optimal Mac viewing, it works
best when viewed with Netscape 7, Omni Web, and Mozilla.
When opened with Internet Explorer for Mac OSX or Safari,
it may download the file to your desktop. If this happens,
simply re-open the local file with the same browser and
you're ready for cool viewing. Enjoy!

A funeral service is

the casket out when they accidentally bump into a wall jarring
the casket. They hear a faint moan. They open the casket
and find that the woman is actually alive.
She lives for 10 more
years and then dies. A ceremony is again held at the same
synagogue and at the end of the service the pallbearers
are again carrying out the casket. As they are walking,
the husband cries out, "Watch out for the wall!"
