Odds and Ends

Now Ear This! - According to the General Telephone Company of Pennsylvania, the typical American spends an average of one year of his or her life speaking on the telephone. Well that would explain the phone growing out of some people's ears!

That Bugs Me A Lot - There are 5 million different species of insects in the world. The insect population of the world is at least 1,000,000,000,000,000,000.

Feelings? - Saying that men talk about baseball in order to avoid talking about their feelings is the same as saying that women talk about their feelings in order to avoid talking about baseball.

Moon Batty!Full Moon Fever - A full moon rarely shows up on Halloween, although Halloween is often associated with full moons. The next full moon on October 31 will occur in 2020.

The Meaning of Madness! - Sanity is a madness put to good uses.

George Santayana

Real Stinger - The bumblebee does not die when it stings – it can sting again and again. In bumblebee hives, the entire colony, except for the queen, dies at the end of each summer. Each year, an entirely new colony of bees must be produced.

YOU'VE BEEN ONLINE TOO LONG... Part I

1. Tech Support calls "YOU" for help.

2. You find yourself trying to cock your head 90 degrees when you smile.

3. Three words: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

4. You have to get a 2nd phone line just so you can call Pizza Hut.

5. You go up to people you are attracted to "in real life" and ask them for their GIF.

6. When at work, your boss constantly reminds you that the word i should be capitalized.

FLORAL 4 YOU

A new business was opening and one of the owner's friends wanted to send flowers for the occasion. They arrived at the new business site and the owner read the card. It said "Rest in Peace." The owner was angry and called the florist to complain.

After he had told the florist of the obvious mistake and how angry he was, the florist said. "Sir, I'm really sorry for the mistake, but rather than getting angry you should imagine this: Somewhere there is a funeral taking place today, and they have flowers with a note saying, "Congratulations on your new location."

It exposes a feature called Exposé which allows users to make the most of manipulating windows and documents. The mail program has also been remade. Many Mac users have been waiting for this message from Apple and plan to have Panther in their paws as soon as possible. - from MacCentral

CavernBeatles' Nightclub Cloned - Replicas of the Cavern, the club where the Beatles hit the big time, are going to be rendered all over the globe. The first Cavern look-alike is scheduled for Southern Spain, and eventually a replica will even rise in Russia. Not only do the Cavern replicas have to look authentic, they also have to promise to promote live music. Though Cavern clubs will be built all over the world, there will not be another one erected in England. The home country will only house the original. - from Excite

The 4 ElementsGettin' down and funky with an outstanding show of colors is The 4 Elements from Jameson Sasser. This most excellent piece emphasizes the elements that we all endure, that of blood, toil, tears, and death. And all four of these ingredients combined make for quite the incredible creation!

Monkie SplatWhat do you call a specialized Monkie place mat for your desktop? Why, a Monkie Splat of course! MacMonkies' Bradford Wiles departed on a GUI journey with the EyeCandy 4000 filters to create this 'hot' new number. The base was originally rendered in Bryce, but eventually got quite the fire and ice makeover. Enjoy!

Noah WyleiPod Urgency: iPod On ER - Actor Noah Wyle, who played Apple CEO Steve Jobs in the movie "Pirates Of Silicon Valley," got to plug Apple products on TV once again. In last week's episode of ER, his character, doctor John Carter, was shown sitting on the floor listening to an iPod after an exhausting day in Africa. A fellow doctor asked him, "What's that?" "iPod," he responded, and proceeded to explain that it was a digital music player. If it's good enough for ER, it's good enough for America! - from Beanhead (the TV junkie)

Open Window For Apple - Windows has provided a window of opportunity for AppleWindow to enter the business world. Apple can get its foot in the door primarily because of the virus problem that has plagued PCs. There are, however, a couple more reasons for companies to consider switching to Mac computers. The use of Unix and the rising love of laptops are two keys. Also, many enterprises are employing young whipper snappers who would make the switch easy because they already know how to make the most of Macs! - from Businessweek

Have You Heard?

WatiWorks - If you haven't been cruisin' around the cool GUI sites lately, you WatiWorksmight not have noticed a really cool change over yonder at WatiWorks! All kinds of nifty things have been happenin' at this great GUI palace on the web. Most noticeably, Wati has given the entire place a makeover that is exceptionally pleasing to the eyes. Next up is a tasty GUI treat in the form of a new icon set titled Give Me Sushi. And if you look around a bit, you will see that as of August of this year, Wati received the Macromedia Professional Flash Designer Certificate! Congrats!

If you hadn't already heard all this good news, now you have no excuse to get your happy eye candy eyes over to WatiWorks and enjoy all the fun!

Very Ape

A-Dock X - This Monkie just loves to customize his Mac, but I don't like all the clutter of countless folders littered all over the desktop. So what's the best solution since Apple introduced the Dock with OSX? Quite simply, A-Dock X from The tijej house!

A-Dock XIf you comb through your Monkie cobwebs, you will recall that Jérome Foucher made A-Dock available to us for the 'Classic' environment. But in recent months, Jérome has been working hard with the beta releases of A-Dock X to bring us an even better dock than you can imagine! A-Dock X can do practically everything that Apple's dock can do and then some. It's like the dock on steroids! Furthermore, you can have both Apple's Dock and A-Dock X running at the same time to add for twice the fun.

Top it all off with the ability to custom "theme" A-Dock X, and you have a useful tool that looks as good as it works! I can't wait for the final release of A-Dock X as I am already hooked! You will be too once you get yourself to The tijej house and download the beta version of A-Dock X. Get to groovin'!
