At The Top - Good golly Miss Molly! The weekend is almost here! And to fix up your weekend activities is our Friday Icon Edition. DV Graphics - It's been a long time since we rock 'n' rolled! But DV Graphics' Paul Sahner cranks up the icon tunage with his wild and whacky Tacky Shirt icon collection. Paul combines his Iconize Me! Mac celebrity faces with some really loud and 'tacky' shirts that make for plenty of interchangeable fun in the sun without even breaking out the sun block. But you might need some shades for this loud set!

miX the piX - WOW! Mr. miX the piX Hein Mevissen knows no end to the process of high quality creativity! His latest round of piXel perfection comes in the form of the founder of modern science fiction Jules Verne. Whether you're headed on a Journey to the Center of the Earth or just sprinting Around the World in Eighty Days, this Pixadex iContainer Edition pays great tribute to a great writer!

wbc icons - Nope! Yazoo from wbc icons hasn't gone 'Postal'! But he sure can put his stamp of excellence on things with a fine set of six titled Stamps! This great group of pixel postage features tigers, zebras, and even something wrapped up for Christmas. All together, they make great replacements for your Mail app or even saved e-mails from everyone on your short list!

Iconizer Icon Studios - Did I hear you say you want some fine folders? Well, we don't have just some folders for you, we've got Some Folders! Master icon crafter Wessley Roche over yonder at Iconizer Icon Studios manages to make every pixel shine with all kinds of GUI glory and adds that extra sparkle to your desktop's delight. The Iconfactory - Time to stock up! Those cool pixel pushers over at The Iconfactory have released yet another bundle of eye-pleasing GUI with One-bit, the latest addition to the growing collection of ready-to-use icons at Stockicons.com. These aliased, 1-bit icons are perfect for cell phone or PDA-based applications, yet with a bit of creativity they can bring a unique look to your other projects as well.

In addition, Kate England added Desert Landscape - The Painted Desert, a companion desktop background to her Wild West icon set at Marmalade Moon. To top it all off, Dave Brasgalla of Pixelhaus has rustled up an iChat sound set full of the aura of the old west, minus the hot lead.

Mandolux - Just in from Mando Gomez is the weekly recap of all the good GUI goodness added to the galleries of Mandolux. Let's look:

Mandolux has issued six new desktops: one Vector-based (Woman/Modeling), four Feathers (Nature/Giant), and one Steevil (Abstract).

The latest in his collection is the sultry selection titled Jill, a new addition to his Vector-based works. Seein' is believin' and you can only see by clicking over to Mandolux. Check 'em out!

WindowShade X 3.0 - The amazement continues to come from the creative minds of Unsanity LLC! Just released is WindowShade X 3.0, the latest version of their exciting and useful window organizing tool for Mac OS X. Here's a look at the latest for this great haxie:

• Introduced Minimize-In-Place functionality.
• Minimized-In-Place windows can now be arranged along the screen edges.
• Better support for multiple monitors.
• WindowShade X now runs as a demo with no functions removed for 15 days instead of an hour per login.

Jobs Keynotes Europe Expo - Apple CEO Steve Jobs will be delivering the distinguished keynote address at the Apple Expo in Paris next month. This keynote may be one of the keys to keeping Apple connected with customers overseas. It is perceived that Apple is probably sending their main man to Paris in order to promote the iTunes Music Store. Though there is no prediction of new products to be announced, it is possible that some performance upgrades may be presented. - from PCPro

Programmed Parallel Parking - Toyota has installed a camera and a computer program in their high-end hybrid Prius model which produces the perfect parallel parking job. Drivers don't need to do a thing and the car won't do a ding! Toyota releases the car next month in Tokyo, where it has already been test-driven. Some speculate that the self-parking car is a first step in the system of developing a self-driving car at some point down the road. - from Wired

Desktops - I don't think the Beach Boys did the twist, but you're sure to get some great vibes from our latest contributor's creation Blue Vibration. This awesome splash of blue comes from the fine talents of Jameson Sasser. He made the image entirely with Photoshop 7 and his imagination. And guess what? Out of the blue...Well, you get the picture!

Another new artist to the Monkie Galleries steps up the Desktop fun with Homestar G5. Combining digital design and his own hand crafted skills, Robert Curtis drew this parody of StrongBad and Homestarrunner, where in one of the cartoons Strongbad fools Homestar into thinking he has something inside a paper bag. And yes, Robert drew this all himself!

Sure to be a hit in your desktop collections comes a great new number from EA Design's Ed Allen titled Heavy Rotation. Ed really puts the artistic spin on this outstanding display of desktop design. And as it rapidly moves up the pixel charts, we're certain that it will receive heavy rotation among your desktop airplay!

Now I gotta be honest. I really didn't think that Grid would amount to much. But after MacMonkies webmaster Bradford Wiles was finished putting a Photoshop filter on a simple pattern, it didn't turn out to shabby after all. It kinda glows on ya! Enjoy!

Mandolux - Mando Gomez has just updated his vast desktop collections at Mandolux! New to the lineup is a new set of Giant Feathers titled Cuervo. Speed Download 2.0.4 - Just in from the folks at Yazsoft is word of the immediate availability of Speed Download 2.0.4! The latest version of the fastest download manager on the web includes several new features and fixes:

• Added Chinese and Swedish localized versions.
• Added scroll wheel functionality in the transfer log window.
• Added .PDB support.
• Increased max number of simultaneous downloads.
• Added support for Streamload's bulk download.
• History folder name has number of elements in brackets (i.e. "Yesterday (21)").
• Clear button works better in history pane.
• Stop downloads with queue fixed.
• Fixed crash if no cookies had been saved by Internet Explorer.
• Fixed dragging files from queue to trash.
• Fixed the filename changing mechanism.

iPod Sets European Standard - The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has bestowed its honor of best Internet Audio Device to none other than the Apple iPod. In conjunction with the iTunes Music Store, Apple's iPod caused a comeback for the EISA Internet Audio category, as this creative category hasn't even been included in the contest since the year 2000. Kids Want Computer Careers - Some people may still be pondering the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" A survey of UK children has shown how much the computer industry has impacted the answers to that age old question. Kids questioned by IT service operators chose a career in computers over being a doctor, and even over being a pop star. But here at the Monkie tree, it's still Monday. So we choose to have fun...Even the the Main Monkie dude is a grouch a lot of the time. But don't tell anyone I said that out loud!
