Labor
Of Love Labor Day Update - Phew! It has been
quite the interesting last few weeks here at the Monkie
Hut. First, the Casper Mountain/Jackson Canyon fire
- which is now 100% contained. Second, me Monkie Mobile's
transmission goes on the fritz - and a mere $8.88 to
fix (priceless)! More detailed info on that on that when we return.
Third, Monkie Mascot Tigger gets an infection - BUM
DEAL!!!! And finally, the trusty MacMonkies workhorse
Mac takes a dive! Though the lack of powering up was
suspected to be a faulty power supply, the new unit
did not do the trick. And though the PRAM battery was
also suspect, all that is logically left is a bad logic
board or puked out processor. And the good news? Me
trusty mate at the authorized Apple repair center (Team
Networks) will not charge us to diagnose the problem,
only the repair (thanks Randy)!! That said, I
MISS MY MAC AND CAN'T STAND USING THE XP UNIT CURRENTLY
BEING USED TO PLACE THIS POST!!!!!!!!! But hey,
we're still smilin'!
Anyhoo, until we're back up and running
again, y'all have a fun, safe, and fantabulous Labor
Day weekend. See ya soon!

Fire
On The Mountain - It has finally happened. Nearly 60 years overdue,
nature has "cleansed" the face of Casper Mountain - home of MacMonkies'
founder, Bradford Wiles. During the now 4 day event, Mr. Wiles has captured
the fire on "film" with 12 New Desktop
Photos. Rather than rambling in
his usual state of redundancy, Master of Monkiness will let the pictures
thus far do the talking. (Further information can be found from the Casper
Star Tribune, CasperWy.org, and the Blaze
Blog).
Update: August
18, 2006 8:15 AM - "Firefighters were able
to hold the line despite the high winds that were generated by yesterday's
storm. The humidity on the mountain is now very high, and this has been helping
the firefighting efforts. Fire crews expect to make significant progress
against the fire throughout the day.
The latest figures remain 11,765 acres and 50% containment.
The fire remains active, especially on its eastern fronts. 435 firefighters
were fighting the fire yesterday, and an estimated 600 firefighters should
be on the scene today." - from CasperWy.org

Fire!
Time
Out: Fire On The Mount - Another break in the annals of Monkie history is essential as an historic wild fire has taken over Casper Mountain
- burning over 10,000 acres of nature and wildlife. First hand photos will
be posted shortly documenting this catastrophic event. Until then, please
keep our rural community in your thoughts and prayers, as we are not out
of the woods quite yet. THANKS!!!

Hello there, ladies and gents! Long time no see. As
we're certain you've noticed, there has been quite the delay since our last
post. Here's the scoop: For about the last week-and-a-half, me monkie bod
has been afflicted with a pinched nerve/pulled muscle, causing a great deal
of pain just thinking about the time spent to make the daily updating duties
here at the Monkie Hut. Though attempting to home nurse the back back to
health, a visit to the Doc may be needed to correct the issue. Therefore,
our annual Birthday Giveaway celebration and updates are being delayed for
a time currently undetermined. Until we resume, please check out the latest
updates from our friends at Live Pencil, miX the piX, Unsanity, PUBLICSPACE.NET,
To•The•Point
Software, and Stick Software. See you soon!
