Software Updates
OmniDazzle Public Beta Now Available - The
Omni Group has announced the public
beta of a new product, OmniDazzle.
This new software is a set of fun and useful enhancements that help you
track the location of your mouse pointer and provide options for highlighting
certain areas of your screen. When OmniDazzle is open, various plug-ins
can be activated to professionally emphasize a section of your screen,
or turn your mouse movement into an area of focus that trails visual effects
across your desktop. Each plug-in can be configured to suit your own particular
preferences: change colors, make objects bigger or smaller, or change the
way you activate the OmniDazzle plug-in of your choice. OmniDazzle helps
you call out your cursor, or part of your screen real estate – or
just add some visual fun to your display. So if you truly want your doings
to be dazzled, team up with The Omni
Group and test drive OmniDazzle!
Unsanity Updates - The fanciful folks from
Unsanity LLC have released new versions
of Menu Master and Silk! Menu
Master 1.4 is a haxie that allows you to change or remove menu shortcut keys in
any application with ease. It takes about 15 seconds to learn how to use
Menu Master, and saves you lots of time later because you can use the shortcuts
you defined and do not bother remembering which ones the developer of the
software invented for you. Version 1.4 now includes Menu Accelerator, is
now a Universal binary compatible with the new Intel-based Macs, and more.
Silk 2.1.3, which enables Quartz text rendering
in Carbon applications, substitutes fonts, allows changing of the theme font,
and more, now adds Universal Binary status, a new updater, and much, much
more. So for the best in Mac customization, head on over to Unsanity
LLC and download the latest version of Menu
Master and Silk!

Odds and Ends
Just A Dove - According to zoology experts,
there is no real difference between doves and pigeons. The choice of name
rests almost altogether on custom and geography, although the smaller of
the species is, more often than not, called a dove.
Big Bucks Back Then - In 1776, a man who
made $4,000 a year was considered wealthy.
The Stars Are Numbered - Captain Kirk's
Enterprise crew numbered 430. His successor, Captain Picard, had 1,012 under
his command.
Simply Flat - A flatterer is a friend who
is your inferior, or pretends to be so.
- Aristotle
Teach Your Children - Educate your children
to self-control, to the habit of holding passion and prejudice and evil tendencies
subject to an upright and reasoning will, and you have done much to abolish
misery from their future and crimes from society.
- Benjamin Franklin
Dreams - I've come to believe that each of
us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the
best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer
it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the
energy of the universe to lead you.

Good to the Last Bite
An elderly man was at home, dying in bed. He smelled the aroma of his favorite
chocolate chip cookies baking. He wanted one last cookie before he died.
He fell out of bed, crawled to the landing, rolled down the stairs, and
crawled into the kitchen where his wife was busily baking cookies. With waning
strength he crawled to the table and was just barely able to lift his withered
arm to the cookie sheet.
As he grasped a warm, moist, chocolate chip cookie, his favorite kind, his
wife suddenly whacked his hand with a spatula.
"Why?" he whispered. "Why did you do that?"
"They're for the funeral."
Birds Of A Feather?
Deep within a forest a little turtle began to climb a tree. After hours
of effort he reached the top, jumped into the air waving his front legs and
crashed to the ground. After recovering, he slowly climbed the tree again,
jumped, and fell to the ground.
The turtle tried again and again while a couple of birds sitting on a branch
watched his sad efforts. Finally, the female bird turned to her mate.
"Dear," she chirped, "I think it's time to tell him he's
adopted."
