Mother's Day Edition
Answers given by elementary school
age children to the following questions:
Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only
one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born. How
did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the
rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my mom just the same like he made me. He
just used bigger parts. Why did God give you your mother and not
some other mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's
moms like me. What kind of little girl was your
mom?
1. My mom has always been my mom and none
of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but
my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice. What's the difference between moms and
dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home,
and dads just got to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers
without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller and stronger, but
moms have all the real power 'cause that's
who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.

I have this problem fixed. If you sent us correspondence

Apple Top Digital Dog - Apple is the force
to be reckoned with when it comes to digital music downloads.
Sales of the iPod have boosted Apple high above all the
others. But sooner or later everyone comes up against Microsoft.
With Microsoft's new push for digital-rights-management
(DRM) software it is hoping to step in and set the standards
for digital music. If Apple can stay innovative and continue
to widen their selection of songs on iTunes, however, they
may be able to hold the digital fort. - from Yahoo
Microsoft Gets Apple Patent - Software giant
Microsoft recently received an accidental patent
which gave it rights to a newly discovered breed of Apple

The incorrect contract gave Microsoft claim to deeply red
Apples sold as "Adam's apples." Mixed-up patent
papers got intermittently shuffled among other legal sheets
in Microsoft's in box at first, but the company has since
filed for a correction with the Patent Office. Apparently

At
The Top - Wowza yowza! It's time once again
to pummel the hump day blues with a fantastic roll out of
GUI goodies for this week's Wednesday Desktop Edition!
There's tons of desktop fun plus Community News, Software
News On The Net, and a bite of Bananas to insure an ear-to-ear
grin. No sense in the Monkie Mouth muckin' up the pixel
waters...Let's get this party started!
New GOO!
New Desktops -
Whoa, Monk doggies! This week's Wednesday Desktop Edition
once again turns lucky with 7 New Desktops in
the Gallery! A great group of artists and a fine time in
desktop design is guaranteed for all. Let's get to the
goods!
Nature -
A most amazing view of nature
comes from William
D. Thompson with Mariposa.
Each year the monarch butterflies east of the Rockies
make a mass
migration to their winter breeding grounds to the forests
of Michoacan. Though this
butterfly is not a participant, it is amazing as it has
a wingspan of some four inches!
Desktops - Put on your
flight jackets and get ready to fly with the latest, greatest
piece from FR4NK titled Wing!
FR4NK'S flare for combining great taste with the lustrous
look of the Aqua gloss and gleam continue to make strides
toward pixel perfection. Once you place this piece in
view, you'll be wiping the drool from your GUI eyes!
It's
getting better all the time! Fields
3 is one fine GUI specimen by master
desktop crafter Bob
Wiley. As Bob's intention was to give the impression
of shafts of light, it is certain to bring that bright
ray light of delight to your desktop view. He definitely
made a mission most accomplished!
Back
with another lucky hand of artistic style to pass to
your desktop is Victor
Emert with Sevens.
This new number is quite the pic as you will find multiple
"sevens" throughout the entire piece. Just how many 7's
are in this slick selection? Your guess is as good as
mine. But you won't have to gamble to find the work in
your desktop favorites!
Fun - The man behind the
cam focused on Fun would be James
Naylor with
his latest snorkel of hoo haw titled Just
For Fun B. It's always a great thing to know
that there is plenty of fun out there in the world to
grin about. And sometimes, all we have to do is LOOK!
James most certainly has an eye for the smirks and smiles!
3-D Rendered - The ever
amazing works of Juegen Eilts graces our Galleries
with a breath taking piece titled Darkness
and Light. This most beautiful selection
from the collections at ShiftedReality
comes from Juegen's creative mind and is made with Created
with Vue 4 Pro. Certainly one of his best works to date!
Logos -Just
when you thought that the series of "excellence" had
come to
a close, MacMonkies' Bradford
Wiles found yet another variation on a groove with ResEx
Groovey! This piece inspired by the
great Mac "hacker's" of ResExcellence went through a number
of stages: From Bryce to multiple filterings in Photoshop.
Enjoy!
Thanks

BLONDE STATE OF MIND
A blonde was bragging
about her knowledge of international capitals. She proudly

Her friend said, "Okay

The blonde replied, "Oh,
that's so easy! 'F'!!!"
GHOSTLY GASP
Why do ghosts always shake and moan? Because
it's darned cold beneath those sheets!
DUCK TALES
A duck walks into a
bar and asks the bar tender, "Got
any 'gwapes'?" And the bartender replies, "No,
sorry I don't sell grapes here." So the duck leaves
and goes home to rest.
The next day he walks
into the same bar and asks the bar tender, "Got any gwapes?" The bartender
replies, "No, sorry I don't sell grapes here." The
duck leaves and goes home to rest.
The next day, he
goes back to the bar and asks the bartender, "Got
any gwapes?" The bartender angrily replies, "I
don't want to have to tell you again, I don't sell grapes
here and if you ask me again I will nail your beak to the
counter of the bar!" The duck leaves and goes home
to rest.
The next day the duck
goes to the bar and asks, "Got
any nails?" The bartender looks at him and screams, "No,
we don't have any nails!" The duck then asks, "Got
any gwapes?"

Menu
Master 1.1.1 - The fine folks from Unsanity
have announced the release of Menu
Master 1.1.1, a haxie that allows you to change
or remove menu shortcut keys in any application with ease.
It takes about 15 seconds to learn how to use Menu Master,
and saves you lots of time. Several new features and fixes
have been added to the latest version that include:
- Setting a keyboard shortcuts for a menu
extra now installs a global hotkey for the key combo.
- Double delete! Hit the delete key twice while selecting
a menu item that has a custom key to restore the original.
- The
preference pane now "cleans" the preferences.
- No
longer erases new preferences on fast or dual processor
Macs if the preference pane is open and a
new key combo
is set in an application.
- Made menu key assignment
happen much earlier. This fixes a lot of problems with
keys not sticking or
not working until the menu is opened.
- No longer
assigns keys to the wrong menu item if the correct
one has multiple matching criteria
(index,
command
id, or item title)
- Fixed a crash that could occur
in very rare (but possible) circumstances if a menu
key combo
no
longer existed but
did at one point.
- Redesigned the preference
pane a little.
- And much, much more!
Get into mastering your Mac's Menu and check
out all the details on the updated version of Menu
Master from Unsanity.
Get to it!

iChat AV In
Apple Stores - Apple is putting it's

to Apple store representatives as well. Certain computers
in the stores are used to communicate through iChat AV,

MP3 Concert
Keychains -
Soon concert-goers will be able to play songs recorded
live for friends the minute
they get home. A kiosk has been created in which fans can
get live recordings in MP3 format. After concerts, fans
swipe their credit cards to buy a lighter-sized, 128 megabyte
hard drive they can hang on their keychains. Then they
insert the pen drive and select the songs they want. The
MP3 tunes are transferred directly to the pen drives, which
can then be transferred directly onto computers. - from

Bingo!
- Bing Crosby recorded more
than 1,700 songs for commercial release between 1926 and
1977. Bing's real name was Harry Lillis Crosby. The nickname
was given to him by a childhood friend who thought the
young Harry resembled "Bingo," the lead character
in their favorite comic book, "The Bingville Bugle."
Cold
Drink -
Drinking lowers rather than raises the body temperature.
There is an illusion of heat because alcohol
causes the capillaries to dilate and fill with
blood. In very cold weather, drinking alcoholic
beverages can lead to frostbite.
Nipped Kitty - Catnip can affect lions
and tigers as well as house cats. It excites them because
it contains
a chemical that resembles an excretion of the dominant
female's urine. Eeeeeew!

says, "Geez that's a weird dog: he's stumpy-legged,
pink, and doesn't have a tail, but I bet my rottweiler
would beat the heck out of it."
50 bucks is laid down.
Out in the yard the rottweiler gets mauled to pieces.
Another
drinker says his pit bull will win but the bet is 100
bucks.
Another trip to the
yard and when it's all over there are bits of pit-bull
terrier all over the place.
The drinker
pays up and says, "Say what breed is that anyway?"
The
owner says, "Until I removed his tail off and
painted it pink it was the same breed as every other
alligator."

NASA ENGINEERS
Three
NASA engineers - one from headquarters in Washington,
one from the Johnson center in Houston, and one from
the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena - were
discussing whether it was better to have a wife or a
mistress.
The HQ guy said it
was better to have a mistress, because they are more
understanding of the long absences
required
of a NASA employee.
The Johnson guy retorted, "Oh,
no, one must always follow proper rules and procedures,
and marriage is the proper procedure, so it is better
to have a wife."
The JPL engineer replied, "No,
it is better to have both. That way, you can tell your
wife that you're with
your mistress, your mistress that you're with your
wife, and go to the lab and work."
