our usual Mac and GUI Community content, I am pleased to make the following
announcement: One month from today on June 4, 2005, my most dedicated friend,
Nose for News, and Assistant Editor - Ms. Tina "BeanHead"
Spicer - will
be exchanging vows with her husband to be, Jim Keldsen! I would like to
extend my personal congratulations to Tina and Jim and hope everyone will
share in wonderful wishes for the both of them.
Tina will continue to be a part of the MacMonkies staff.
But as you can probably already imagine, her duties here at the Monkie Hut
- up to and shortly following the wedding - will be brief if not absent at
times. So that means you have to put up with me...Ha! This should be pretty
strange!! Anyway, with wedding bells soon to be ringing, we can all join

Q: What did one strawberry say to another strawberry?
A: If you weren't so fresh,
we wouldn't be in this jam!!
New Math?
A boy was teaching a girl arithmetic, he said it was his mission.
He kissed her once; he kissed her twice and said, "Now that's addition."
In silent satisfaction, she sweetly gave the kisses back and said, "Now
that's subtraction."
Then he kissed her, she kissed him, without an explanation.
And both together smiled and said, "That's
multiplication."
Then her Dad appeared upon the scene and made a quick decision.
He kicked that boy three blocks away and said, "That's long division!"
Holy Water?

Antennas

Odds and Ends
Got Milk? - A baby gray
whale drinks enough milk to fill more than 2,000 bottles
a day.
The Boogie Man! -
In "British English," a booger is called a "bogey" or "bogie."
Honky Tonk -
The musical term "honky tonk" comes from black
slang for "gin mill" — later it was used
to describe spirited music that thrived in such places
in the 1930s.
Connection Gone Postal -
It can take quite a while for a Web page to appear on your
screen. The reason for the delay is that, when you type
in a Web address, your computer passes it along to another
computer, which in turn passes it along to another computer,
and so on through as many as 5 computers before it finally
reaches the work station of a disgruntled U.S. Postal Service
employee, who throws it in the trash.

Loads Of Learning -
Of course there's a lot of knowledge in universities:
the freshmen bring a little in; the seniors don't take
much away, so knowledge sort of accumulates.

Teachers Change a Light Bulb
How many teachers does it take to change a light bulb
?
Well, teachers don't change light bulbs but they can
help make a dim one brighter!
Not Me Your Honor
A rabbi and his two friends, a priest and a minister,
played poker for small stakes once a week. The only problem
was that they lived in a very conservative blue-law town.
The sheriff raided their game and took all three before
the local judge.
After listening to the sheriff's story, the judge sternly
inquired of the priest: "Were you gambling, Father?" The
priest looked toward heaven, whispered, "Oh, Lord,
forgive me!" and then said aloud: "No, your
honor, I was not gambling."
"Were you gambling, Reverend?" the judge asked
the minister. The minister repeated the priest's actions
and said, "No, your honor, I was not."
Turning to the third clergyman, the judge asked: "Were
you gambling, Rabbi?"
The rabbi eyed him coolly and replied "With whom?"
Talking Dog
A dog walks into a bar. He hops up on a bar stool and
puts his front paws on the bar. He looks the bartender
right in the eye and says, "Hey, guess what? I'm
a talking dog. Have you ever seen a talking dog before?
How about a drink for the talking dog?"
The bartender thinks for a moment and says, "Alright.
The toilet's right around the corner."
The Blonde and the Jumper
A blonde and a redhead met in a bar after work for a
drink, and were watching the 6 O'clock news. A man was
shown threatening to jump from the Brooklyn Bridge.
The blonde bet the redhead $50 that he wouldn't jump,
and the redhead replied, "I'll take that bet!"
Anyway, sure enough, he jumped, so the blonde gave the
redhead the $50 she owed. The redhead said, "I
can't take this, you're my friend. I have to admit, I
saw this on the 5 o'clock news, so I can't take your
money."
The blonde replied, "Well, so did I, but I never
thought he'd jump again!"
