of, things would be a lot different. Just take a look

DUMB STUFF
~ If
you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat
one cup of coffee.
~ Banging your head against a wall
uses 150 calories an hour. Do not try this at home
(Maybe at work).
~ If you farted consistently for 6
years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create
the
energy of an atomic bomb.
~ A cockroach will live nine days without
its head before it starves to death.
~ The strongest muscle in the body
is the tongue. That would explain alot!

latest:
Mandolux has

Monitor), one Fire Redux (Night/Landscape),
and one Cap (NY Yankees).
The
most recent addition is an excellent giant dual monitor
desktop titled Cityscape (Defocused): 405. As the titled
implies, this is an intentionally taken out-of-focus photograph
of a cityscape and the 405 refers to a local Freeway
in Southern California. Hit the cyber highway and head

ALIEN SAFETY
BELT
Buckle up! It makes it harder for the aliens
to snatch you from your car.
SERMON ON TEMPERANCE
A southern minister
was completing a temperance sermon. With great expression
he said, "If I had all the beer
in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."
With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all
the wine
in the world, I'd take it and pour it into
the
river." And then finally, he said, "And if I had
all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and pour it into
the river." Sermon complete, he then sat down.
The song
leader stood very cautiously and announced, "For
our closing song, let us sing Hymn #365: Shall
We Gather
at the River."
STATISTICS!
Three statisticians
go out hunting together. After a while they spot a solitary
rabbit. The first statistician
takes aim and overshoots. The second aims and undershoots.
The third shouts out "We got him!"
TAXING SITUATION
A man had fallen between
the rails in a subway station. People were all crowding
around trying to get
him out before the train ran him over. They were all shouting, "Give
me your hand!" But the man would not reach up. Joe
elbowed his way through the crowd and leaned over the man. "Friend," he
asked, "What is your profession?"
"I am an IRS agent," gasped the
man. "In that
case," said Joe, "Take my hand!"
The IRS agent immediately grasped the Joe's hand and was
hauled to safety.
Joe turned to the amazed
by-standers and declared, "Never ask an IRS agent to "give" you
anything, you fools!"

Music Sales
Rise
- Some presume that the panic of piracy has put music sales on the downswing the last couple of
years. Sales have been rising lately, however. Music sales
rose by nine percent compared to this time last year. CDs
are on the upswing as well as digital downloads from online
music stores such as the iTunes Music Store. The industry
hopes to increase its income as it takes hold of technology.

of digital design with this week's Wednesday Desktop

New GOO!
New Desktops -
Your GUI eyes are sure to shine once they get a good look
at the 5 New Desktops in store for this
fine collection of artistry gathered together in the Desktop
Gallery! Pull out your spectacles and get ready to be amazed!
Nature -
The desktop hostess with the mostest, Ms. Joy Tallant
-
GUI girly
from grnluvbug,
brings some fun in the sun in more ways than one with
a bright selection titled Sunflower.
Joy's everlasting cheer shines right through with this
most delightful digital endeavor. Plus there's no need
to worry about any allergies getting in the way of enjoying
this slice of Nature to its fullest!
Your
desktop is certain to be smelling quite nicely with the
latest work of digital
design from William
D. Thompson titled The
Yellow Rose of Texas.
Even though this beautiful subject was photographed
in Mexico, the blooms of the
prickly pear cactus are sometimes known further
north as the "The Yellow Rose of Texas." They
do look rather like a wild rose, don't they!
Fun/Logos -
He's done it again! Fantastic FR4NK has
sent another marvelous Desktop selection that lands itself in both the Logos
and the Fun Departments with MacMonkies
TV. Just when you thought you couldn't get
enough of the Monkie Business cyber style, in comes this
great desktop. Now all you have to do is place this pic
as your background and tune in 24/7!
3-D
Rendered - By no means are the skills of Bob
Wiley rusting away! But
you'll find an antiquated look of one of his previous
desktop entries with Converge
Rustic. Bob simply makes a smooth
switch in the appearance time continuum that will make
for a sure hit amongst your desktop collections. Unlike
a Monkie mug, some things look better with age!
Which
way is up, or rather out?! MacMonkies' Bradford
Wiles explores the possibilities with a new
number titled Sunnyside
Out. This new desktop piece was rendered
in Bryce, with additional modifications made with Eye Candy
4000 filters in Photoshop. A nice way to get the pixels
a poppin' on your desktop! Enjoy!

CORPORATE
TOASTERS Part
II
If Timex made toasters, they would be cheap
and small quartz-crystal wrist toasters that take a licking
and keep on toasting.
If Fisher Price made toasters, 'Baby's
First Toaster' would have a hand-crank that you turn
to toast the bread
that pops up like a jack-in-the-box.
If Microsoft made
toasters, every time you bought a loaf of bread, you
would have to buy a toaster. You wouldn't
have to take the toaster, but you'd still have to pay
for
it anyway. Toaster '05 would weigh 15,000 pounds (requiring
a reinforced steel countertop), draw enough electricity
to power a small city, take up 95% of the space in
your kitchen, would claim to be the first toaster that
lets
you control how light or dark you want your toast to
be, and would secretly interrogate your other appliances
to
find out who made them. Everyone would hate Microsoft
toasters, but nonetheless would buy them since most
of the good bread
only works with their toasters.
E.T.'S EYES WIDE SHUT
Why are E.T.'s eyes
so big?
Because he saw the phone bill!
SEVEN THINGS MEN WON'T SAY
1. Let's watch Lifetime!
2. Sex is overrated.
3. There is nothing I
like better than crawling into bed with a good book.
4.
My hips are too big.
5. Aw, can't we watch Oprah?
6. Does this
suit make me look fat?
7. I'll never get tired listening
to Celine Dion.

Network News
the WebWorld - BeanHead Mac
The Miracle Pill - Apple has shown itself
to be a blessing to that part of the population which has
grown up from
the good old days. Mac makes it easier for old-schoolers
to partake in new technology through its operating system
and creativity. Not only that, but some who are tentative
toward technology in general have actually embraced it
through the iPod and Garageband. If it weren't for Apple,
a lot less geezers (affectionately speaking) would become
computer geeks. - from Santa
Cruz Sentinel
Jobs Picky
With Pixar - Apple CEO, Steve
Jobs, is being particularly picky with how he handles Pixar.
He is offering to put Pixar back on Disney's plate as long
as they oust Michael Eisner, current Disney CEO. Since
parting Disney, Jobs has held talks about Pixar with other
potential
partners. But the talk now is that those talks have been
stopped until Jobs hears from Disney regarding his most
recent pitch. Disney's Board has already taken serious
steps toward canning Eisner, and Jobs' offer may speed
up the process. - from MacObserver
"The Passion" Rises
Again - Mel
Gibson's The Passion Of The Christ is making
movie
history in more ways than one. First it outsold "The
Lord Of The Rings" at the cinema. It was number one
for three weeks and graciously bowed down the next three
weeks. But for Easter weekend the film did something never
seen before and rose again back to number one. Not your
typical entertainment for the eyes, this epic just can't
seem to settle down. Whether the message will make history
with the masses the way the movie is has yet to be seen. - from Excite

Odds and Ends
Sound Familiar? -
The easiest sound for the human ear to hear,
and those which carry best when pronounced, are,
in order, "ah," "aw," "eh," and "oo."
Twice
As Old! -
In many countries, it is the custom to wish friends
a "Happy Birthday" on January 1st,
rather than a "Happy New Year." This
day is nicknamed "Everyman's Birthday," and
is considered the day when everyone becomes a
year older, whether it's their actual day of
birth or not. Similarly, this practice is observed
in horse racing. No matter when a race horse
is born, they all "become" a year older
on New Year's Day, although there are no records
explaining how or why this came to be.
A Very
Long Year - Since Neptune's discovery in 1846, it has made
about three-quarters of one revolution of the sun.
No
Refund, No Recall -
Once a word has been allowed to escape, it cannot be recalled.

TALKING DOG
This man sees a sign
in front of a house "Talking Dog Free to Good Home." He
rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in
the back yard. The man goes into the back yard and sees
a mutt sitting there. "You talk?" he asks.
"Yep," the
mutt replies.
"So, what's your
story?"
The mutt looks up and
says "Well,
I discovered this gift pretty young and I wanted to help
the government,
so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time they
had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms
with
spies and world leaders, cause no one figured a dog
would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable
spies
eight years running. The jetting around really tired
me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger and I
wanted to settle down. So I signed up for a job at the
airport
to do some undercover security work, mostly wandering
near
suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered
some incredible dealings there and was awarded a batch
of medals.
Had a wife, a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."
The
man is floored...but says to the owner, "This
dog is amazing, incredible...Why on earth
are you giving him away?"
The owner replies, "He
lies through his teeth!"
CORPORATE TOASTERS
Part I If Xerox made toasters,
you could toast one-sided or double-sided. Successive
slices
would get lighter and lighter. The toaster would
jam your bread for you.
If Radio Shack made
toasters, the staff would sell you a toaster, but not know
anything about it. Or you could buy all the parts to build
your own toaster.
If Apple made toasters, it would do everything
the Microsoft toaster does, but five years earlier.
