DELAWARE

Q: What did Delaware?

A: A New Jersey.

MONKEE JOKE

I heard that the Monkees were originally only going to have Peter, Davy, and Mike in the band.

Yeah?

Yeah. Then they slipped them a Mickey.

PIGS AND MULES

A couple drove several miles down a country road, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument, and neither wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules and pigs, the wife sarcastically asked, "Relatives of yours?"

"Yep," the husband replied, "In-laws."

I'm Too Sexy For My iChat AV - A couple comics have come up with clues for iSight Geek!users to look cool on camera. They offer tweaks for geeks entering the virtual frontier of video to ease the shock of what they really look like. For example, do away with the double chin by mounting the camera correctly. There are tips on lighting options, backgrounds, and even grooming. Webcam etiquette is addressed, such as how body sounds and adjusting of clothing annoys viewers. And perhaps the biggest tip of all: Do not sit around in your underwear! - from MacMinute and MacDevCenter

Apple Of My Eye - Visually impaired Apple users may not benefit much from iSight, but Apple is committed to enhancing their experience as much as possible. It announced the integration of something called Spoken Interface into the next major release of OS X. Spoken interface will allow sight challenged seekers to navigate the Mac operating system both audibly and through key commands. Best of all it's built in, so there's no need to install third party software. Apple's famous ease of use strikes again! - from MacCentral

Happy St. Patty's Day!At The Top - Welcome to our Lucky 7 St. Patty's Day Desktop Edition! Here's hopin' your Wednesday is filled with fortune, unlike yesterday when I discovered 1.5 hours after arriving at work that my Steve Jobs-like black pseudo turtle neck shirt was on inside out...Tag and all!! Anyway...It's time for the look of luck with seven new Desktops and a pot full of News from around the web world along with a dose of Bananas. Let's have a Happy St. Patrick's Day and do it to it!

New GOO!

New Desktops - Feeling lucky? Your fortune is certain to change once you lay your eyes on this week's selection of 7 New Desktops for your Lucky 7 St. Patty's Day Desktop Edition! Let's dive into this great new collection of GOO!

3-D Rendered - Let's kick off this delightful Desktop Edition by kicking Spring Up Spring into gear with Spring Up by the most amazing Bob Wiley! Bob's spectacular eye for 3-D design lends itself to an in-your-face and into the atmosphere taste of bounce that will beautify your desktop as well as bring your gandering GUI grin to full tilt!

Desktops - Not wearing your obligatory dab of green for this luck holiday?Apple Alien Let Apple Alien by FR4NK clothe all of your desktop bare spots with this pot of gold worth of pixels! Whether you're a bona fide citizen, got your Green Card, or just travelin' with your Visa, this lucky charm will open doors to a whole new world in your pixel world!

Let's take things for a whirl with Jameson Sasser's magnificent piece titled Short TimeShort Time. Actually, it will take your eyes no time at all to find themselves drawn in to this alternative galaxy. Before too awful long, you might even find yourself seeing stars of a most universal pixel design. Awesome stuff!

Following up last week's bull fighter from William D. Thompson is a Cartel de Corridafearless new selection titled Cartel de Corrida. This cool desktop is a snapshot of one of many in a collection of bull fight posters. This week's feature dates from 1977 and it's historic in a sense because at least three of the toreros on the cartel are no longer living. ¡Excelente!

And tying your GUI tongues with a most tasty twist is quite the artistic Tongue Nebulawork from Victor Emert titled Tongue Nebula. With Victor's most artsy point of view in the palace of pixels, we may have to add a whole new Department to the Gallery just to showcase a more artistic side of the Monkie Barrel. Bravo!

Fun - Sweetening up the Fun Department of the Monkie Web is a Strawberry Jamdelicious piece from Flameia Design's Julia Nikolaeva called Strawberry Jam. This most recent desktop design to emerge from Julia's classy corner of the net includes just the right amount of desktop sweetness without all the extra calories. Scrumpdileitious!

Putting the final Spring on all things GUI sweet is Summer Daisy by Summer Daisygrnluvbug's pride and joy, Joy Tallant! One of Joy's colorful masterpieces, this sharp selection could easily make a double debut with a second shot in the 3-D Department. But no matter how you choose to view it, this excellent piece is sure to stand out amongst your best! Enjoy!!

Thanks Department --

Julia, Joy, Bob, FR4NK, Jameson, Victor, and William...

Simply AMAZING!!!

A. He couldn't afford plane fare.

SEEING DOUBLE

Seamus was tending bar when a patron came in and ordered a beer and a shot. A little while later another came in and they struck up a conversation. "Let me buy you a drink in memory of my mother land, Ireland," the first said.

"Ireland?, I'm from Ireland too. I come from Dublin. Let's drink to Dublin!" said the second.

"Dublin? Why I grew up there. Went to St. Mary's," replied the first. "Me too," said the second, "class of '57."

"Seamus, another round for the Class of '57!" ordered the first. And so it went. A short time later another patron came in and asked, "Hey Seamus, What's going on in here today?"

"Nothing much," the bartender replied, "Just have the O'Reilly twins in drunk again."

TALL TALE

Q. Why can't you borrow money from a leprechaun?

A. Because they're always a little short.

That's right...According to a study conducted by the University of Arizona, germs reside more rampantly on computer keyboards and mice than on toilet seats. Up to four hundred times more, to be exact. The speculation is that seats get disinfected on a more regular basis than the computers. Due to the new found data, it is recommended that office equipment be disinfected more regularly as well. Eeeeyuckopoopoo! - from Australian IT

Odds and Ends

Bugs! - If the name of every insect were printed in an average-size book, it would take about 6,000 pages to list them all. There are more than 900,000 known species of insects in the world.

Solo Beatle - George Harrison, with My Sweet Lord, was the first Beatle to have a Number 1 hit single following the group's breakup. And he certainly paid the price as he lost the "subconscious plagiarism" suit by the owners of the Sixties song "He's So Fine."

Hero Abhorred - Nature abhors a hero. For one thing, he violates the law of conservation of energy. For another, how can it be the survival of the fittest when the fittest keeps putting himself in situations where he is most likely to be creamed?

- Solomon Short
