Politics As Usual
There's a saying in Washington that if you're not completely
confused, then you're totally uninformed.
Be Careful What You Ask For
Three guys are relaxing and fishing. Out of the blue, they catch a mermaid
who begs to be set free in return for granting each of them a wish. Now one
of the guys just doesn't believe it, and says:
"Ok, if you can really grant wishes, than double my I.Q." The
mermaid says: "Done."
Suddenly, the guy starts reciting Shakespeare flawlessly and analyzing it
with extreme insight. The second guy is so amazed he says to the mermaid: "Triple
my I.Q." The mermaid says: "Done."
The guy starts to spout out all the mathematical solutions to problems that
have been stumping all the scientists of varying fields: physics, chemistry,
etc.
The last guy is so enthralled with the changes in his friends, that he says
to the mermaid: "Quintuple my I.Q." The mermaid looks at him and
says: "You know, I normally don't try to change people's minds when
they make a wish, but I really wish you'd reconsider."
The guy says: "Nope, I want you to increase my I.Q. times five, and
if you don't do it, I won't set you free."
"Please," says the mermaid "You don't know what you're asking...it'll
change your entire view on the universe...won't you ask for something else...a
million dollars, anything?" But no matter what the mermaid said, the
guy insisted on having his I.Q. increased by five times it's usual power.
So the mermaid sighed and said: "Done."
And he became a woman.
Pilgrim Humor
What happened to the Pilgrim who was shot at by an Indian?
He had an arrow escape.
Better Late Than Never
Three paramedics were boasting about improvements in their respective ambulance
team's response times.
"Since we installed our new satellite navigation system," bragged
the first one, "we cut our emergency response time by ten percent."
The other paramedics nodded in approval. "Not bad," the second
paramedic commented. "But by using a computer model of traffic patterns,
we've cut our average ERT by 20 percent."
Again, the other team members gave their congratulations, until the third
paramedic said, "That's nothing! Since our ambulance driver passed the
bar exam, we've cut our emergency response time in half!"

Government Goes Easy On Taxes - No, the government
will not let up on taxes this year any more than any other year, but it will
be encouraging the public to take the easy route when it comes to filing.
That route would be over the internet. The campaign called "Simplify" will

iPod Tickles TV's Fancy - Television has
been tickled pink ever since Steve Jobs made a deal with Disney to make the
company's television shows available for view on the iPod. Some are simply
astounded that such great shows can be downloaded and carried around with
them wherever they go. Along with such a breakthrough comes speculation that
viewers may stop watching TV, but only time will tell. -

Necessity Of iPod Accessories - The iPod
has not only become a must have over the last few years, but has now inspired
owners to go above and beyond by accessorizing. iPod cases are selling more
and more, and protection of the iPod is not the only issue, style is equally
as important. Accessories for iPod are becoming such a rage that companies
have begun building strategies specifically targeting iPod owners. -

Better Than A Feather Pillow - Some soldiers
have a hard time finding sound sleep out in the middle of nowhere. To solve
this situation, a special kind of pillow is being tried out. It makes chirping
sounds like a bird so the soldiers can sleep better. The sound of chirping
birds is a much more peaceful sound than the noises of war, and the pillow
hopes to send the soldiers snoozing just as peacefully as the sounds it makes. -

Odds and Ends
Flying Turkeys
While domesticated turkeys can't, wild turkeys can fly up to 55 mph
for short distances. They're also fast on their feet, hitting land speeds
of up to 25 mph.
Turkey Ears
Turkeys don't have ears as we think of them, but they do have excellent
hearing. It would be difficult for a predator to approach without being heard
first. Turkeys also have keen eyesight and see in color. However, their night
vision and depth perception are poor. Their sense of taste is much more sensitive
than their sense of smell.
Gobble Squabble -
It was once believed that merely touching a wishbone would bring you good
luck. Squabbles over the bone eventually led to the custom of tugging them
until they snapped, and the holder of the longer piece would be granted a
wish.
Macy's T-Day Parade - Large balloons first
appeared in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1927, and Felix the Cat was
the first character featured. For a short time, there was a tradition of
releasing the balloons when the parade was over. They'd float for days and
the lucky finders could claim a prize.
Thorny Thanks -
Some people complain because God put thorns on roses,
while others praise Him for putting roses among thorns.
- Anonymous
Priceless Gratitude -
Nothing purchased can come close to the renewed sense of gratitude for having
family and friends.
- Courtland Milloy
The Name Game - A couple in Australia has
named their children Kitchen, Bedroom and Garage, after the places where
they were conceived. My name is Craig "Pool Table" Kilborn and
my brother's name is Carl "Exit Ramp" Kilborn.

Changing The Course Of Thanksgiving Part I
1. During the middle of the meal, turn to mom and say, "See mom, I
told you they wouldn't notice that the turkey was four months past its expiration
date. You were worried for nothing."
2. When everyone goes around to say what they are thankful for, say, "I'm
thankful I didn't get caught" and refuse to say anything more.
3. Load your plate up high, then take it to the kitchen, toss it all in
the blender, and take your "shake" back to the table. Announce
that it's the new Thanksgiving Weight Loss Shake.
A Side Of Turkey
Which side of the turkey has the most feathers?
The outside.
Train, Train
Lady: Is this my train?
Station Master: No, it belongs to the Railway Company.
Lady: Don't try to
be funny. I mean to ask if I can take this train to Chicago.
Station Master:
No, Madam, I'm afraid it's too heavy.
Bad ATM Day
You think you've got $100 in your account and go to take out $50, and the
screen says: "Not in this lifetime," and laughs as you bang on
the machine, trying desperately to get your card back that the machine has
taken.
