to swing in by a vine and find time to dine with this week's Friday

Brand New Broom
A woman was waiting in the check-out line at a shopping
center. Her arms were laden with a mop and broom and other cleaning supplies.
By her actions and deep sighs, it was obvious she was in a hurry and not
happy about the slowness of the line.
When the cashier called for a price check on a box of soap, the woman remarked
indignantly, "Well, I'll be lucky to get out of here and home before
Christmas!"
"Don't worry, ma'am," replied the clerk. "With a good tail
wind and that brand new broom you have there, you'll be home in no time."
Bible Financier
Q. Who was the greatest financier in the Bible?
A. Noah. He was floating
his stock while everyone else was in liquidation.
Anti-Drug Message?
My kindergarten-aged daughter suddenly announced just before school that
she needed to take a clean tee shirt to class. She told us the teacher was
going to iron an anti-drug message on it. My wife frantically swept through
my daughter's room, finding nothing usable but one tee shirt that already
had something printed on one side. She sent it off to school with my daughter.
That afternoon, my daughter returned and happily showed off her shirt.
On one side it said, "Families are Forever."
And on the other, "Be Smart, Don't Start."

Icon Show. Though chaos hasn't struck yet, we'll have the pixels popped -

If not? Well then that depends on the conditions. So with all ambiguity up
front and then not, stop back on Friday and see what we've got!
Update: There
has been some flash flooding in our neck of the woods which, as a result,
the floors of the Monkie Hut are a bit under water. We still plan to do a
full update on Friday. But with the awkward circumstances, it may be late
if not altogether postponed if necessary. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

iTunes Perfect For Podcasts - With podcasting
becoming more popular by the second, Apple is in the perfect position to
capitalize on it through iTunes. iTunes is the ideal tool to market podcasts
because it provides all the means necessary to make it simple. Besides offering
all the ins and outs of podcasting for free, iTunes also comes with its own
big market to tap into which is unbeatable. -

Advertisers Penetrating iPods - iPod may transport
people to their own little world inside their heads, but advertisers will
soon be breaking in. Now that advertisers have learned that people like their
iPods, they are preparing a way to invade iPod privacy to pump their products.
Since playlists are chosen quite particularly, cool tunes are being composed
as ads which hope to work their way onto iPods. -

Africa Pilots Palm Pilots - Schools in Kenya
are piloting a program in which pocket PCs are used in hopes to reduce costs
of education. The palm pilots are being used in place of books to deliver
knowledge to the students. Textbook content is loaded onto the e-slates and
the children can take them home at night. If successful, the palm units will
be manufactured much more sturdy and distributed more widely. -

Unreadable Prescription
While waiting for a prescription to be filled, I heard an explosion from
behind the divider, followed by an outpouring of dense black smoke.
The Pharmacist emerged several minutes later, his white uniform scorched
black. He glared at the woman waiting next to me and said, "Would you
ask your doctor to write your prescription again, and this time -- PRINT
IT!"
Adiós
The weary holiday traveler looked in disbelief at a bunch of mistletoe hangin
above the luggage check-in center.
Turning to the attendant he asked, "Ok, I give up. Why is the mistletoe
there above the luggage scale?"
"So you can kiss your luggage goodbye."
Pulling My Leg?
On our honeymoon, my husband and I traveled through the Carlsbad Caverns
of New Mexico. At the end of the tour, we entered an elevator on the bottom
of the cavern. We were tightly packed with a group of tourists. My husband
was standing just behind me. Since he was in a "captive" position, I thought
it would be a good time to reach back and tickle his leg. It was a long ride
to the top, and I tickled and pinched the whole time. He didn't say a word.
Afterward, I mentioned it to him. His eyes widened as he informed me, "It
wasn't my leg!"
Report This!
CNN has just reported that the US's worst air disaster occurred today when
a small two-seater plane crashed into a cemetery early this morning in central
rural Alabama.
Alabama search and rescue workers have recovered 300 bodies so far and expect
that number to climb as digging continues into the evening.

Hmmm...What do we have here? Well, 1. One tired Monkie - Playing hooky
didn't turn out as planned as the duties of work called for an early arrival
and very long hours; 2. One very **frustrated** Monkie as one of me faithful

there); 3. A very **anxious** iPod winner (BTW - Happy belated B-Day);
4. Another long week ahead. Phew! I am getting exhausted just thinking
about it! But never the no mind. We'll keep pluggin' away until the light
of day has snagged me breath away. So, with the week's beginning at our

Odds and Ends
Mo Fo Da Money - In 1993, Ted Danson earned
a reported $450,000 per episode as Sam Malone during the final season of
Cheers, an industry record at the time. While Roseanne received more that
year for an episode of Roseanne, she also did more. In addition to acting,
she was the show's executive producer and a contributing writer.
Cheap Swoosh - The Nike "swoosh" logo
was designed by University of Oregon student Carolyn Davidson in 1964 — four
years after business undergrad Phil Knight and track coach Bill Bowerman
founded the company they originally called Blue Ribbon Sports. Ms. Davidson
was paid $35 dollars for her design.
PEZ! - PEZ Candy was first
marketed as a compressed peppermint candy over 70 years ago in Vienna, Austria.
The name PEZ was derived from the German word for peppermint...PfeffErminZ.
Today, over 3 billion PEZ candies are consumed annually in the U.S.A. alone.

Resisting Arrest?
A boy and his father are playing with toy cars, the father has the police
car and pretends to pull over the car that the boy is playing with.
"Do you have a drivers license?" asks the father.
"No," says the boy.
"Are you resisting arrest?" he asks.
The boy hesitates before he says, "No... I'm not sleepy yet."
Copyright Explained
When you write copy you have the right to copyright the copy you write,
if the copy is right. If however, your copy falls over, you must right your
copy. If you write religious services you write rite, and have the right
to copyright the rite you write.
Very conservative people write right copy, and have the right to copyright
the right copy they write. A right wing cleric would write right rite, and
has the right to copyright the right rite he has the right to write. His
editor has the job of making the right rite copy right before the copyright
can be right.
Should Jim Wright decide to write right rite, then Wright would write right
rite, which Wright has the right to copyright. Duplicating that rite would
copy Wright right rite, and violate copyright, which Wright would have the
right to right.
Right?
Best To Look First
After being with her all evening, the man couldn't take another minute with
his blind date.
Earlier, he had secretly arranged to have a friend call him to the phone
so he would have an excuse to leave if something like this happened.
When he returned to the table from taking the call, he lowered his eyes,
put on a grim expression and said, "I have some bad news. My grandfather
just died."
"Thank goodness," his date replied. "If yours hadn't, mine
would have had to."
The Bait
A boy was taking care of his baby sister while his parents went to town
shopping. He decided to go fishing and he had to take her along.
"I'll never do that again!" he told his mother that evening. "I
didn't catch a thing!"
"Oh, next time I'm sure she'll be quiet and not scare the fish away," his
mother said.
The boy said, "It wasn't that. She ate all the bait."
