Monkie mood, we can carry on with big ol' smiles in the GUI

Love Is Blind
Have you ever seen Stevie Wonder's wife?
Neither has he!
A Different View
A woman walks out of a bar totally hammered, only to be greeted by a
snobby man. He takes one look at her.
"You, ma'am, are drunk!"
"And you sir, are ugly. But when I wake up, I will be sober!"
Like You Would Ever Call a Fish
How do you talk to a fish?
You drop him a line.
Hide The Duke
A boy was meeting his girlfriend's parents for the first time
for dinner. After dinner, his girlfriend and her mother left the room to
do the dishes, leaving him with the father and the dog Duke, who was sitting
underneath the boy's chair. Unfortunately, it was a large dinner and he
really had to fart. He stealthily let out a quiet, but audible, fart.
"Duke!" the dad yelled.
"This is great!" the boy thought. "He thinks the dog is farting!" So
he let out another one.
"Duke!" the father barked. The boy thought he was home free so
he let everything out at once in a really loud and smelly fart.
"Duke! Get out of there before the boy gases you out of here!"

Stuff, Stuff, And More Stuff -
Here we go again...Chaos in the cage! What's this, you ask? Well for starters,
the last few days have been a bit crazy behind the scenes. But that is
beginning to become a normal state! Perhaps we should plan for the abnormal
and everything will seem normal. With that said, we still are planning a
round of pixelated fun for your Friday Icon Edition. But **just in case**
things get unraveled, we wanted to let you know in advance that there is
a slight chance it may be postponed.
Next up is the subject of SPAM.
Though we should never have to mention this, we DO NOT EVER send out spam
e mail to ANYONE. Unfortunately, there are those out there that are using
bogus MacMonkies e mail addresses to send out SPAM of various types, including
those containing attachments. This is a practice we do not involve ourselves
with ever. If you ever receive
one of these e mails and are uncertain whether or not we sent it, feel free
to contact us at any time. Okay...Let's get to some News!

Mac Partner Shows Promise - The partnership
of Apple and Intel has the potential to bring many faces of phenomena to
the future of technology. With the possibility of providing a dynamite digital
home system, the processing power of Intel matched with Tiger's ease of
use will put out of this world products on the Earths map. Apple's partnership
with Intel will also put pounds of pressure on Microsoft to make a more slick
operating system. - from MacNewsWorld
iPod Stands Alone -
Statistics prove that iPod is the single most popular digital music player
sold. But the markets prove that iPod is more than simply a product, it is
a catalyst in the evolution of sociology. That's right, it has changed the
way individuals, groups, indeed globes of people behave. Other products such
as Playstation may have effected human behavior in a fad sort of way, but
none have had the prowess to stand without a competitor like iPod. -

Technology Transforms McDonalds -
A pilot of the futuristic fast food chain McDonalds is up and running in
Illinois in which customers can savor the taste of technology while they
sit down savor the taste of a Big Mac. The new McDonalds comes with kiosks
allowing burger eaters to burn CDs and print photos. It also offers WIFI

and there is mention of McDonalds menu changing slightly too. -

New Desktops - Here we go! 4 New Desktops in the Gallery from some fine
designers and your GUI view will be all the more excited, delighted, and
maybe even knighted. Let's look at this week's royalties!
Logos - It's been quite
some time since we've heard from the likes of
Mark Penney, but that's about to change! Offering a sweet, simple, and
to the point design (just like a Mac), Mark has sent a most X-cellent selection
simply titled Tiger
Desktop. Placing emphasis on Apple's best OS yet, Mark puts Tiger's
X in the spotlight just as one would expect!
3-D Rendered - Can lightning strike in the
same place twice? Yes. And
so does the brilliance of Juergen Eilts, ShiftedReality's amazing 3 dimensional
digital crafter! Created using Vue 5 Infinite, Terragen, and Photoshop,
Lightning Strikes makes use of
these great tools to render a powerful likeness of nature in action. Let
the thunder roll!
If you're up on your ABC's in graphic design, you'll know that most
anything coming from Dave Hornsby is always a winner! And with Dave's latest
creation to enter the Gallery - RingThing
d - you'll find a whole lotta "D-light" in this finely crafted design
in 3-D. One glance at this piece and you will find it wrapped around your
favorites' finger!
Desktops - Not originally intended for placement
in this round of
desktops, FlashBack was
actually "found" when another was "lost." MacMonkies' head
coconut Bradford Wiles was looking for another still misplaced pic when
he stumbled across this previously created Bryce frame. A slight angle
change and a Photoshop touch up and...Wa la! This critter came to life.
Enjoy!
Thanks Department --
Mark, Juergen, and Dave...
This is a most excellent gathering of GUI goodies!

Marriage and Men Part
II
Marriage brings music to a man's life. He learns to play second fiddle.
Getting married is one mistake every man should make.
A well-informed man is one whose wife has just told him what she thinks
of him.
Courtship, unlike proper punctuation, is a period before a sentence.
The argument you just won with your wife isn't over yet.
And lastly...
Before criticizing your wife's faults, you must remember it may have been
these very defects which prevented her from getting a better husband that
the one she married!!

Old Friends
Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years they
had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities
had been limited to meeting a few times a week to play cards.
One day they were playing cards when one looked at the other and said, "Now
don't get mad at me...I know we've been friends for a long time, but I just
can't remember your name. I've thought and thought, but I can't recall it.
Please tell me what your name is."
Her friend glared at her. For at least three minutes she just looked at
her. Finally she said, "How soon do you need to know?"

At The Top - Monday the 13th...I have yet
to figure whether a 13th landing on Monday is better or worse than one
landing on a Friday! But since we've made it through the week, the month,
and even the year, me thinks the chances of making it through this day
are pretty darned good. Yessirree. A lot of stuff has happened as of late:
Apple has announced their switch to Intel chips, the Bean has been married
off to a Wintel user (guess they're part of the switch too), and I have
made it though the week as a solo Monkie artist without my Mac letting
out so much as a little burp (another long story). So now that the through's
are through, let's get back to the fun we can find in the Zoo!

Knowing Yourself
I only use de-odorant under one arm, so I know what I would have smelled
of.
Marriage and Men Part I
When a man decides to marry, it may be the last decision he'll ever make.
Some men who speak with authority at work know enough to bow to a higher
authority at home.
A dish towel will certainly wipe the contented look off a married man's
face.
Love is the quest, marriage is the conquest, divorce is the inquest.
An engagement is an urge on the verge of a merge.
Tough Change
I have to admit it, Jensen had offered a brilliant proposal to resolve our
troublesome problem.
He suggested we form three committees, one to study
the problem directly, one to study how other companies had resolved similar
problems, and a third to oversee the first two and coordinate their efforts
into a workable solution.
The plan worked flawlessly and we assigned the
janitor to change the lightbulb.
Before You Meet With God
A man died and went to The Judgment. St. Peter met him at the Gates of Heaven
and said, "Before you meet with God, I thought I should tell you --
we've looked at your life, and your really didn't do anything particularly
good or bad. We're not at all sure what to do with you. Can you tell us anything
you did that can help us make a decision?"
The newly arrived soul thought for a moment and replied, "Yeah, once
I was driving along and came upon a woman who was being harassed by a group
of bikers. So I pulled over, got out my tire iron, and went up to the leader
of the bikers. He was a big, muscular, hairy guy with tattoos all over his
body and a ring pierced through his nose. Well, I tore the nose ring out
of his nose, and told him he and his gang had better stop bothering the woman
or they would have to deal with me!"
"I'm impressed," St. Peter responded, "When did this happen?"
"About two minutes ago," came the reply.
