Neighborly Kiss
A farmer and his wife had just woken up one morning to the crowing of their
rooster. While still in bed, the farmer's wife says, "Pa, you know
our neighbor Mr. Jones?"
"Yes Ma, I reckon I do," replied
the sleepy farmer.
"Well, every morning before he leaves the house
for work, he gives his wife a big ol' kiss. Why don't you ever do that?"
The
farmer sighed and said, "Well, I reckon I can, but I just don't
know her very well."
Dog Talk
Two women, who are dog owners, are arguing which dog is smarter.
First woman: My dog is so smart. Every morning he waits for the paperboy
to come around and then he takes a newspaper and brings it to me.
Second
woman: I know.
First one: How?
Second one: My dog told me.

Apple Computer Wins, App-eal To Follow -
As mentioned yesterday, the two great apples went head to head to decide who
had the right to bite from the famous apple logo. Yesterday, Justice Mann
judged that "the use of the apple logo...does not suggest a relevant connection
with the creative work." Therefore, "the computer company's logo is used
in association with the store - not the music - and so did not breach the agreement."
Though the verdict appears to be a victory for the computer company, Apple
Corps vows to appeal the decision. "While the case may have seemed glamorous
because of the litigants, it really came down to the interpretation of a contract
- the 1991 agreement - said Jonathan Riley, an intellectual property lawyer
with London firm Lawrence Graham." How About

At The Top: Apple Vs. Apple Ruling Due Today -
According the Associated Press, a High Court judge will rule today regarding
"the legal fight between Apple Computer and the Beatles' Apple Corps record
label over the use of the apple logo. Apple Corps Ltd. is suing Apple Computer
Inc., claiming that the U.S. based computer company has broken a 1991 agreement
in which each agreed not to enter into the other's field of business." Apple
Corps seeks to the computer company "to drop its apple logo from the iTunes
Music Store," while Apple computer claims that "music lovers are smart enough
to tell the difference between the use of the apple logos." Hmmm, no matter
which apple you chew to choose, the outcome shall be interesting. We'll keep
ya posted! - from Forbes

Odds and Ends
Twisted Feathers - In
1950, a tornado plucked some chickens from their coop in Bedfordshire, England.
It happened in more than one sense — their feathers exploded because
the normal air pressure inside the quills was much higher than the low pressure
air of the tornado.
Religious Cruise-ade - At age 14, Tom Cruise
enrolled in a seminary to become a priest, but dropped out after one year.
Chance Landing - In the famous Parker
Brothers game Monopoly, the space on which a player has the greatest statistical
chance of landing is Illinois Avenue. This is followed by the B & O Railroad,
Free Parking, Tennessee Avenue, New York Avenue, and the Reading Railroad.
Just A Pill - No matter how love sick a woman
is, she shouldn't take the first pill that comes along.

a surgeon does everything and knows nothing, and a psychiatrist knows nothing

late.
