RABBIT! A
man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit jump out
across the middle of the road. He swerves to avoid
hitting it, but unfortunately the rabbit jumps right
in front of the car.
The driver, a sensitive man as well as an animal lover,
pulls over and gets out to see what has become of the
rabbit. Much to his dismay, the rabbit is dead. The driver
feels so awful that he begins to cry.
A
beautiful blonde woman driving down the highway
sees a man crying on the side of the road and pulls over.
She steps out of the car
and asks the man what's wrong.
"I feel terrible," he explains, "I
accidentally hit this rabbit and killed it."
The blonde says, "Don't
worry." She runs to her car and pulls out a spray
can. She walks over to the limp, dead rabbit, bends down,
and sprays the contents onto the rabbit. The rabbit jumps
up, waves its paw at the two of them and hops off down
the road. Ten feet away the rabbit stops, turns around
and waves again, he hops down the road another 10 feet,
turns and waves, hops another ten feet, turns and waves,
and repeats this again and again and again, until he hops
out of sight.
The man is astonished. He runs over
to the woman and demands, "What
is in that can? What did you spray on that rabbit?"
The
woman turns the can around so that the man can read the
label. It says...
"Hair Spray - Restores life
to dead hair, adds permanent wave."

Mandolux
- Mando reports a great week in desktop additions to the
galleries of Mandolux. Here's a list of the latest in
winning selections:
Mandolux has
issued four new desktops: two Antivas (New Theme/Abstract/Dual
Monitor), one Fire REDUX (Nature), and one Pet (Cat).
The latest entry has created a new theme
titled Antivas (as in Anti-Canvas) and the first fruit
is a dual giant monitor desktop set. It's hard to explain
what this theme is, but your eyes will have no need for
words once they get a good look at the latest and all the
great works added this week at Mandolux!

WRONG WAY!
As a senior
citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone
rang. Answering, he heard his
wife's voice urgently
warning him, "Herman, I just heard on the news
that there's a car going the wrong way on Route 280.
Please
be careful!"
"It's not just one car," said
Herman, "It's hundreds of them!"
TONGUE TIED?
What did the hat say to the tie?
"You hang around
here...I'll go on a head."
REENGINEERING THE GLASS OF WATER
To the optimist,
the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is
half-empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big
as it needs to be.
FLOWER FLUB-O-RAMA
I sent flowers to someone who was moving
to Florida for a job promotion. I also sent flowers the
same day to a
funeral for a friend.
I found out later that
the flower shop got the cards mixed up. They sent the
card to the
guy who was moving that said, "Deepest
Condolences," and sent the card to the funeral home
that said, "I know it's hot where you're going, but
you deserve it."

Faster Macs - Motorola has rolled out a quicker
chip that is pin compatible with Apple's G4 Powerbooks.
The chip has the power to boost processing speeds up to
as much as 1.5GHz. It is not known whether Apple will make
use of Motorola's newly manufactured processing piece,
but it would be an easy move if they decide to make it.
The upgrade would make Powerbooks a hotter item by keeping
them cooler and giving them longer battery life. - from

3D Model Of Mars - Researchers have been
rendering pictures received from the Mars rovers into a
3D projection of the planet. They are using software to
transform flat photos sent from space into short virtual
video clips that show the pictures from all different viewpoints.
The visuals are not interactive, but may be able to be
manipulated by joysticks sometime before people make it
to the planet. In the meantime, they are working on making
longer videos of the surface of Mars. - from BBC

At The Top
- Yesterday may have been Fat Tuesday, but today is Big
Wednesday as we officially add bigger desktops to your Wednesday
Desktop Edition! Add to that a full tummy of Monkie fun,
and you've got every reason to pig out at the table of grins.
Let's get this party started!
New GOO!
New
Desktops - You asked for it, you got it! All of
you "big screen" Monkies now have more sizes
to choose from in the Gallery. New artists and new desktop
artists light up the Gallery in a big way! So kick back
and enjoy this week's addition of 5 New Desktops in the
department of desktop smiles!
Fun
- Familiar here at the Monkie Bin, Ms. Joy Tallant of grnluvbug
shares more of her multifaceted artistic abilities with
a fun filled desktop titled Don't
Panic! Joy points her
energies toward the power of the pixel with bright,
exuberant colors that bounce off the walls as well
as your desktop! So come on...Don't panic! Just get
a good dose of fun with this awesome pic!
Desktops
- Brand new to the Monkie Zoo is one of our latest artists Brian Hintze.
Brian brings the big, bold, and beautiful desktop number
titled Navel
Orange Fire. It's pretty obvious that
he had fun creating this desktop. Your desktop will
get good vibes from this vibrant piece
once you place it square on your desktop GUI
mat!
Another new face to this crazy place is the ever talented
Victor Emert. His first
entry into the Gallery is called Time
Is Change. Victor does collage and mixed
media works, scans them, tweaks 'em in Photoshop,
and uses
them
for CD covers, framed artwork, and cards. He's
been at it on a Mac since 1987, and it surely shows
by the results!
As
we welcome another round of pixel popping fun from Bob
Wiley, you better
hang on to your GUI glasses once they get an eyeful of Fields!
This show stopper is from a
new technique that he's developed from "worrying"
some day
he'd run out
of
new things
to try. It
may look simple on the outside, but is likely more than
meets the eye. Fantabulous!
Nature -
Puttin' on the ritz for the finale to your Big Wednesday
Desktop Edition
is Max Vrooman with
another selection of
excellence titled Fans.
This is photo
he took a while back and displays his most awesome diversity
in desktop abilities. Personally, this Monkie sees many
"fans" in Max's future and I am sure you will agree!
Enjoy!

Mandolux -
How does he do it?!! Mr. Mando Gomez adds yet
another fantastic Fiery desktop to the galleries of Mandolux titled Edeline.
What makes this an awesome desktop is the composition of
the photograph and how the
fire flames are molded with the camera. Even though half
the desktop is flames and the other half is just black,
the desktop is a must have download. You know what to do...Jet
over to Mandolux and let this new pic add fire to your desktop!

FIVE IN A
QUATTRO
Five Belgians in an
Audi Quattro arrive at the French border. The French
customs agent stops them
and tells them: "It's illegal to put 5 people in a
Quattro."
"Oh, no, Quattro
is just the name of the automobile. Look at the papers:
this car is designed
to carry 5 persons."
"You can't pull that one on me," replies
the French customs agent. "Quattro means 4!"
"Oh, you are so
dumb! Call your supervisor over!"
"He
can't come. He's busy with the 2 guys in the Fiat Uno."
BRIDE AND BROOM
Two brooms were going
to get married, before the ceremony, the bride broom
said to the
groom broom, "I think
I'm going to have a whisk broom."
The groom broom
said to the bride broom, "How can
that be possible? We haven't even swept together!"
MOTOR POOL
The phone rang at the
motor pool and an authoritative voice demanded to know
how many
vehicles were operational.
Jim answered, "We've got twelve trucks, ten utilities,
three staff cars and that Bentley the lard-butt colonel
swanks
around in." There was a stony silence for a
second or two.
"Do you know who
you are speaking to?"
"No," said
Paddy.
"It is the so-called
lard-butt colonel you so insubordinately referred to."
"Well, do you
know who you are talking to?"
"No," roared
the colonel.
"Well thank goodness
for that," said Paddy as he hung up the phone.

When Windows
Wavers Grab A Mac - In the midst
of the constant crashes of computers, David Coursey of
ZDNet finds one thing he can count on to be consistent:
Mac OS X. He always keeps his powerbook close by as
a "rock
solid," reliable back-up when Windows crashes. Three
of his PCs have crashed so hard they bit the dust, but
the operating system on his powerbook just keeps going
and going. So Coursey would advise that those who don't

Maximum
Wage? -
In 1938, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed
into law the first minimum wage in the United
States. The new law, considered controversial

established a 25 cent-per-hour minimum wage and
a maximum 44-hour work week for minors.

In 1500 B.C. in Egypt, a shaved head was considered

BIG GRASSHOPPERS A
Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation. There
he meets an Aussie
farmer and gets talking. The Aussie shows off his big
wheat field and the Texan says, "Oh! We have
wheat fields that are at least twice as large."
Then
they walk around the ranch a little, and the Aussie shows
off his herd of cattle. The Texan immediately says, "We
have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your
cows."
The conversation has,
meanwhile, almost died when the Texan sees a herd of
kangaroos hopping through
the field. He asks, "And what are those?"
The
Aussie replies with an incredulous look, "Don't
you have any grasshoppers in Texas?"
