GOLF: THE
DEATH OF ME
Off the seventh tee, Joe sliced his shot
deep into a wooded ravine. He took his eight iron and
clambered down the embankment in search of his lost
ball. After many long minutes of hacking at the underbrush,
he spotted something glistening in the leaves. As he
drew nearer, he discovered that it was an eight iron
in hands of a skeleton!
Joe immediately
called out to his friend, "Jack,
I've got trouble down here!"
"What's the matter?" Jack
asked from the edge of the ravine.
"Bring me my wedge," Joe shouted. "You
can't get out of here with an eight iron!"
BEE JOKES FOR THE POLLEN IN YOU
What is
the clumsiest insect?
The Bumbling Bee.
What did the Bee say when he returned
to the hive?
"Honey, I'm Home!"
What is a bee's favorite band?
The Bee Gees.
What was their #1 song?
"Stay in a Hive."
MEN VS. WOMEN: ROUND 1
Nicknames
If Laura, Suzanne, Debra and
Rose go out for lunch, they will call each other
Laura, Suzanne,
Debra
and Rose.
If Mike, Charlie, Bob and John go
out, they will affectionately refer to each other
as Fat Boy,
Godzilla, Peanut-Head and Scrappy.
Eating Out
When the bill arrives, Mike,
Charlie, Bob and John will each throw in $20, even
though
it's only for $32.50. None of them will have
anything smaller,
and none
will actually admit they want change back.
When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.
Money
A man will
pay $2 for a $1 item he wants.
A woman will pay $1 for
a $2 item that she doesn't want.

Mac To The Future - Now that Mac has been
around for twenty years, where will it be in twenty more
years? With Steve Jobs in the driver's seat, few would
argue that Mac will continue to lead the industry in innovation
and design. Whether Mac will have a big impact on the business
community is yet to be seen, however, because Jobs simply
gets more excited about bringing the digital world to individuals.
Some suggest he should partner up with certain big wigs
if Mac is to take the lead in the business world. - from

Mac Mini iPod -
Great things come in small packages, and now that includes
the iPod. Apple’s
iPod is small to begin with, but now it has a mini me.
The iPod Mini claims to be everything the iPod is, only
it is smaller than a cell phone. Available in five colors,
it features a click wheel which saves space because buttons
are placed under the wheel. The mini gadget also sports
four games, a high speed connection to Mac and PC computers,
and even an alarm which can be set for those who want to
snooze but not lose. Now all they have to do is work on that
price tag! - from Apple

a brand new pixel packed issue of your Wednesday Desktop
Edition! There's some fine new GUI threads to dress up your
desktop along with our usual Monkie view from the zoo. So
let's grab a few bananas and dive into the brew!
New
GOO!
New
Desktops - A fresh new Batch o' Goo is just the
right way to begin the New Year as we whip out 7
New Desktops for your dining delight. Let's partee!
Nature - Our latest contributing
artist barks up the right tree of our Nature Department
with Tree Bark.
As we're told by photographer Shawn
P. Withrow, the
tree in this picture is over 100 years old and the subject
was snapped with his Christmas Present (a new digital
camera). Knock on wood!
Desktops - It's been a
long time since we've rock and rolled, but we get a
good
dose of rebel GOO from EA
Design with Tainted
Love. Me good friend Ed Allen sends his
rebellious best with this fine lament of love gone
bad? Well, I dunno what it was created for, but Ed
paints a tainted heartbreaker regardless!
Another
fine return comes your way from William
D. Thompson with another photographic wonder titled MailDrop.
It looks a bit frightening, but
it's only a mail drop on the outside wall of a post
office. You can even see where an untold number of
letters has worn the bronze a brighter color as generations
have had the beast swallow their mail.
Making
the best of a beautiful evening is Jack Juliussen of RAMASJANG with
the most amazing selection titled Louise.
This fantastic photo is of a bridge in Copenhagen,
the real name is "Dronning
Louise bro" (Queen Louise bridge). An absolutely
must-have desktop!
3-D Rendered - On the
"in's" of the best desktop art around is another number
from Alan Sherwood's Fleabitten collection
with an eye popping number titled Out.
Straight from the ultra fine collections of burntcanvasdesign,
this outstanding work will memorize your eyes and your
desktop design!
From the most gifted hands of ShiftedReality's
Juergen Eilts comes his
most recent masterpiece titled Simosha.
This breath taking landscape created with Vue d'Esprit
Pro will move your mood to a land far on the other side
of the Earth - quite literally!
Wrapping up the fantabulous collection
of GUI goodies is another taste
of Winter Wonderland from PlasmaDesign.
Number two in Rob Randtoul's Snowflake series is the
appropriately titled Snowflake
2. Though it's freezing here in
Monkie Land, this cool piece will warm your desktop
with Winterland delight! Enjoy!

WORLD WAR III
"Jimmy," asked the teacher, "what
would happen if the Third World War broke out?"
"It
would be a huge problem. There'd be another chapter in
the history book to study."
ONE COOL SKELETON
Why was the skeleton so
cool?
Because he was bad to the bone.
METAPHYSICAL DOWNSIZING
One day a government worker was
digging through his office drawers when suddenly he came
upon a magic lamp (Oh, c'mon,
I'm sure there's one buried in your desk too). Since
he'd heard these jokes before, he knew that he had to rub
the
lamp and make the genie come out. So he rubbed the lamp
and -- oh, surprise -- out popped a genie.
The genie asked,
as genies will, "What is your first
wish?" The government worker thought about it for
a second, then replied, "I would like to be rich!" So
the genie granted him his wish, and poof the man was surrounded
by piles of money rivaling the heaps of even Martha Stewart
and Bill Gates.
Since
the government worker knew the whole wish process, the
genie didn't even have to ask for number
two before
he said, "My second wish is to be on an island with
beautiful women surrounding me and obeying my every command!" And
poof, he was there.
Then the government
worker -- or, as I like to call him, civil servant --
decided on his third
wish, "I don't
want to do any work ever again!" and poof -- ubiquitous
ironic twist -- he was back in his office.

Wal-Mart Music
Service A Wash Out - Reviews of the Wal-Mart download
service find the price reasonable, but much of the rest
questionable. Selection is scarce in some categories, and
the 30 second sample songs only work some of the time. Sound
quality is stipulated as "good enough." Wal-Mart
also requires an activation for every computer you download
the songs to, of which they allow three, and all songs are
formatted for Windows. Only time will tell if this "beta"
operation of Wal-Mart will get any better. -

sounds and smells bring the whole experience home for students.
With a skin simulated climbing wall, complete with zits

fully appreciate the art of their body functions. The name
Grossology was based on a series of children's books with
the same subject matter. - from Yahoo

A New Year's
Celebration - The
celebration of the new year is the oldest of all holidays.
It was first observed in ancient Babylon about 4,000 years
ago. It is also the world's most observed holiday. In most
English-speaking countries, it has been observed on January
1 since the British Calendar Act was passed in 1751.

THE TOMATO SELLER!
A man from another country
came to the U.S. and learned three phrases.
1.Only fifty cents
2. Very, very fresh
3. Not today, maybe tomorrow.
A lady came to his tomato
stand and said ''how much are these tomatoes?'' The man
said "Only fifty cents." Than she asked "are
they fresh?" The man said "Very, very fresh."
She then asked, "Can I buy one?" The man said,
"Not today maybe tomorrow."
A thief comes and said
"I'm a thief how much money do you have?" The
Tomato Seller said, "Only fifty cents." The thief
said, "Are you being fresh with me?" The Tomato
seller said "Very, very fresh." The thief said
"Alright, that's it. I'm going to shoot you."
The Tomato Seller said "Not today maybe tomorrow"
STICKY ONE
Q: Why did the gum
cross the road?
A: Because it was stuck
to the chicken's foot.
THE BRIDGE
A man walking along
a California beach was deep in prayer. Suddenly the sky
clouded above his head and in a booming voice the Lord said,
"Because you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all
ways, I will grant you one desire."
The man said, "Build
a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over anytime I want."
The Lord said, "Your request is very materialistic.
Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking.
The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific!
The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust
several of my beautiful natural resources. I can do it,
but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly
things. Take a little more time and think of something that
would honor and glorify me."
The man thought about
it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I wish
that I could understand my wife! I want to know how she
feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the
silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she
says 'nothing's wrong', and how I can make a woman truly
happy."
The Lord replied, "You
want two lanes or four on that bridge?"
